English
Riding - Beginner I Class
Available
for adults and children of at least 8 years of age; group size averages
six riders of similar ability per group. We teach beginner through advanced
English Riding with an emphasis on a balanced seat position.
For
students new to the program who have had no formal instruction or have
taken our Pony Camp, Horse Camp, or Beginner Horsemanship courses.
Students
who have had English riding instruction at another facility or at Valley
Riding and are NOT currently enrolled in a class should
consult with an instructor for appropriate placement.
Students
currently enrolled in a group should turn in a waiver/release by the 10th lesson to reserve a slot in the next session. Check
the schedules below for the session dates for your particular lesson
day.
Private
& semi-private lessons are available on a limited basis.
Cost:
$250 for 10 consecutive weeks (unless otherwise noted). Each lesson
is 45 minutes long; no refunds without a doctor's excuse. There will
only be one make-up lesson given at the end of each session.
Requirements:
- For the health
and comfort of our horses the weight limit is 160 lbs.
- Riding Attire:
Long pants, long socks, and hard soled shoes/boots with a low level
heel. No tennis shoes are allowed.
- A riding hat
is required. Riding hats may be borrowed from Valley Riding, Inc.,
and returned after each class.
- Gloves are recommended.
Beginner
English Horsemanship
Available
for adults and children. Children must be at least 8 years old. Weight
limit 160 pounds. Each session includes general care, safety, grooming,
tacking as well as riding each lesson
Cost:
$175.00 for 5 consecutive weeks. No make-up classes are offered.
No refunds without a doctor's excuse.

Available
for students 4-7 years old and under 75 pounds. Campers learn general care
and safety rules used in working around the ponies and in the barn.
Each class helps to groom their ponies before riding. There is one instructor
for each class, and one volunteer for each student. Volunteers assist
the campers at all times, and lead the ponies whenever a student is
mounted.
Cost:
$155.00 for five, 2 hour classes. No make-up classes are offered. No
refunds without a doctor's excuse. Maximum 6 students/class.

All
classes have a limit to the number of participants who can safely participate.
You are encouraged to register early. Registration ends one week before
lessons begin.
Registration deadlines do not guarantee a spot
in the class. Some classes fill up BEFORE the deadline.
Late
registrations accepted if space is available.
We accept cash, checks and credit cards.

Refunds
will be made if a class is filled, cancelled or with a doctor's excuse.
Inability to attend a class is the participant's responsibility.
Refunds
will NOT be made because of non-attendance.
Registrations
are processed randomly between mail-ins and walk-ins; you will NOT
receive a confirmation - assume you are registered unless notified differently
by the office. Valley Riding, Inc. reserves the right to reschedule
or cancel classes should they not fill. Any class may be cancelled because
of insufficient enrollment.
