School Horses and Ponies

             We have a wide variety of horses to meet the needs of all of our riders.From    

             Scooter Pie (an 8.2 hand pony) to Millie (a 16 hand Percheron draft mare),

             and from the easiest horse to ride to a horse who needs a more experienced rider      

             From bays and chestnuts to spots and roans, each of our horses is special to

             all of us.

 

Rocky River Stables  

Angel:

Angel is a 13 year old gray pony mare who has been in our program since 2006.  She is used in Pony Camp.

 

  

 

Big Ben:

Ben is a 21 year old sorrel Grade gelding who has been in our program since 2002. He is very gentle and is used in Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, Horse Camp, Youth Outdoors, and various other programs.

 

 

 

Buttercup:

Buttercup is a chocolate palomino pony mare.  She is used in Pony Camp.

 

  

 

Honey Nut Cheerio

("Cheerio"):

Cheerio is an 18 year old chocolate palomino Haflinger pony gelding. He is used in Horse Camp, Girl Scouts, Youth Outdoors, Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, and various other programs.

 

 

 

Classy RB

("Cloud"):

Cloud is a 12 year old chestnut and white registered Paint gelding who has been in the lesson program since 2005.  He is used in Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, and various other programs.

 

 

 

Cutting Up Kid

("Doc"):

Doc is a 13 year old chestnut registered Quarter Horse gelding who joined our program in 2001.  He is used in Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, and various other programs.

 

 

 

Dusty:

Dusty is a white Welsh pony gelding.  He is used in Therapeutic Riding and Pony Camp.

 

 

  

 

Elfin:

Elfin is an 18 year old flea bitten gray registered Oldenburg gelding who has been in our program since 2003.  He participates in our Able-Bodied lesson program.

 

  

Effie Donna

("Emmie"):

Emmie is an 11 year old palomino registered Haflinger mare who joined the program in 2006.  She is used for Able-Bodied lessons.

 

 

Freckles Allenda

("Freckles"):

Freckles is a 12 year old chestnut registered Quarter Horse gelding who moved to Rocky River Stables in 1999.  Since then, he has been used in Able-Bodied lessons.

 

  

Guiness:

Guiness is one of Rocky River's biggest horses! He is a 14 year old gray registered Percheron gelding who has been at Rocky River since 1999.

  

 

Jimmy:

Jimmy is a 24 year old strawberry roan pony gelding who is used in Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, Girl Scouts, and various other programs.

 

  

 

KoKomo:

KoKomo is a black pony gelding who has been in our program since 2004. He is used for Able-Bodied lessons, Therapeutic Riding, Girl Scouts, and various other programs.

 

  

 

Oreo:

Oreo is a 23 year old black and white Paint pony mare. She is used for Pony Camp and various other programs.

 

  

 

LA Rachael

("Rachel"):

Rachel is one of Rocky River's biggest horses! She is a 10 year old black registered Percheron mare who has been in our program since 2005. Rachel is used in Able-Bodied lessons and our Therapeutic Riding Program.

 

  

 

Party Box

("RB"):

RB is one of our newest additions! He is a 16 year old sorrel registered Quarter Horse gelding.

 

  
Sandy: Sandy is an Appaloosa Pony.  She is used in Able-Bodied Lessons, Youth Outdoors and in our Therapeutic Riding Program.

 

Scooter Pie: Scooter is Rocky River's smallest pony!  He is an adorable bay pony who is used in Pony Camp.

 

 

 

Sky:

Sky is a chestnut Chincoteague pony gelding who has been in our program since 1996.  He is used in our Able-Bodied lesson program and for Girl Scouts and Horse Camp.

 

  
 

Smokey:

Smokey is a gray pony gelding. He is used in Pony Camp.

 

 

 

 

Spirit:

Spirit is an 18 year old Appaloosa gelding who was donated to VRI in 2005.  He is used in our Able-Bodied lesson program and for various other programs.

 

 

Taffy:

Taffy is a Palomino pony gelding.  He is used in Pony Camp.

 

 

Theodore

("Theo"):

Theo is a 24 year old chestnut Morgan/Appaloosa cross gelding who has been in our program since 2003.  He is used in Therapeutic Riding and our Able-Bodied lesson program, as well as various other programs.

 

  

Chantilly

("Tilly"):

Tilly is a 13 year old chestnut registered Thoroughbred mare who was donated to VRI in 2005. She is trained to third level dressage and training level eventing.

 

 

 

Skips Suny Delight ("Toby"):

Toby is a 13 year old chestnut and white registered Paint gelding.He is used in our Able-Bodied lesson program.

 

  

Brecksville Stables

     

 

Abe FLF

("Abe"):

Abe is an 8 year old palomino registered Haflinger pony gelding.  He is used in Therapeutic Riding, Able-Bodied lessons and taken to horse shows.

  
     

 

  

Amber:

Amber is a Pony of the Americas mare who is used in Therapeutic Riding, Able-Bodied lessons, and Pony Camp.

 

  
 

Classy:

Classy is an 8 year old bay registered Welsh cross pony mare. She is used for all types of lessons, and she travels to horse shows as well.

 

 
     

Daisy:

Daisy is an adorable white Welsh pony mare who is used in Pony Camp and Therapeutic Riding.

 

 

 

 

Bonnie's Boy

("Donnie"):

Donnie is one of Brecksville's newest additions! He is a chestnut Thoroughbred gelding.  Check back soon for more information on Donnie!

 

  
     

 

  

Harry:

Harry is a brown pony gelding who is used in pony camp.

 

 

  

 

  

Justin:

Justin is a chestnut Morgan gelding. He is used in the Able-Bodied lesson program, and is taken to shows in the summer.

 

 

  
     

 

  

Lucky:

Lucky is a chestnut Paint gelding.  He is used in Able-Bodied lessons.

Mo Money Merlin

("Merlin"):

Merlin is an 11 year old dark brown registered Quarter Horse gelding. He is used for Therapeutic Riding, Girl Scouts, Horse Camp, Able-Bodied lessons, and he travels to horse shows. Merlin was purchased by VRI in 2001.

 

 

 
       

 

  

Chantilly Lace

("Millie"):

Millie is a 12 year old gray registered Percheron mare.  She has been used in Able-Bodied lessons and Therapeutic Riding since she joined our program in 2001.

 

 

 

  

Southern Ridge

("Murphy"):

Murphy is a 14 year old chestnut registered Thoroughbred gelding who is used in Able-Bodied lessons. He was donated to our program in 2006 and was previously used as an eventing horse.

 

 

  
 
 

 

 

  

Indian Velvet

("Peanuts"):

Peanuts is a 26 year old chestnut and white registered Paint pony mare who has been retired from our regular lesson program and is now used in Therapeutic Riding and Pony Camp.

Rocky:

Rocky is a very energetic brown and white pony gelding. He is used in Pony Camp.

  

 

 

  

Sally:

Seneca Sun Glow

("Sunny"):

Sunny is a 19 year old chestnut registered Arabian gelding who was donated to our program in 2006. He is used in our Able-Bodied lesson program.

 

 

  

 

  

Tigger:

Tigger is a bay and white pony gelding.  He is used in the Able-Bodied lesson program, Therapeutic Riding, and Pony Camp.

 

  

 

Trigger:

Trigger is Brecksville Stables' smallest pony! He is a palomino pony gelding who has been in our program since 2003 and is used in Pony Camp.
